For the months of July and August one dollar of every shirt purchased will be donated to the Friends Outside National Organization. "Friends Outside is dedicated to breaking the cycle of crime and delinquency and preserving families. We believe that by aggressively addressing the factors that cause violence, child and spousal abuse, and criminal lifestyles, we can significantly reduce crime, delinquency and their devastating effect on our society." A statistic that turned my head was, "Children of incarcerated parents are 5 to 6 times more likely than other children to become delinquent."

Friends Outside is changing the world for the better by showing love in extraordinary ways to an otherwise forgotten group of people.

July's artist of the month is Ingrid Michaelson. I don't know anything about Ingrid Michaelson except what I've read on the Internet. All I know is that I am dying to see her live. Her music is diverse and unique, yet very inviting...multi-layered, complex and deep, yet seemingly simple as if to take your hand and walk a bit. At least that is what I think....

As far as my little love tips...all I can say is, do something unexpected, yet needed, without being asked to do so. Do the dishes at a friend's house. Bring your buddy coffee after a hard day. Mop your mom's floor.

Part of being transformed by Love is seeing through new eyes...seeing and anticipating the needs of others and then being moved to action by Love to fill those needs. It is easy to get caught up in ourselves. Sometimes when we focus on what we want and what we need we become blind to the needs of others that are screaming in our faces. I challenge you to become more aware, to see through new eyes, see a need and fill a need that is not your own. I'm going to try, won't you? Try it then tell me what happens...
